If you’re on the Optavia diet and wondering which brands of yogurt are approved, you’re in the right place!
As we know, Greek yogurt is good for various recipes, including dips, sauces, and baked goods.
You can include yogurt in your meal plan as a fueling alternative, as long as it has no more than 100 calories and less than 10 grams of carbs.
Always check the label to make sure it has at least 10 grams of protein, as this will make your snack more satisfying.
In the list below you can find some top brands of yogurts that are allowed on the Optavia diet.
1. Dannon Light & Fit Greek Yogurt
One of the reasons why I’ve included this yogurt in the top Optavia fueling substitutes list is because it has more proteins and fewer calories than most of the Optavia bars and shakes.
What’s more, the 6-count packs cost around $5.58, which is $0.93 per serving. Three times less expensive than any of the essential fuelings.
(Even if you buy a single pack for $1.12-$1.20 it’s still much more affordable.)
I generally buy Dannon Light & Fit Greek Yogurt at Walmart because of the convenience and variety of flavors:
- Lime
- Banana
- Cherry
- Blueberry
- Strawberry Cheesecake
- Vanilla, and more!
When it comes to flavors, my best of the best are strawberry cheesecake and toasted coconut vanilla.

2. FAGE Total Greek Yogurt Nonfat
Another great option that has even more protein than Danone is FAGE Total Nonfat Greek Yogurt.
According to the FAGE website, this yummy yogurt is made from cow’s milk and goes through a straining process to give it that thick and creamy texture we all know and love.
Plus, the nonfat version is made from skim milk, which means it’s lower in fat and calories than other types of yogurt.
I use this yogurt in a variety of ways.
For example, I enjoy using it as a dip for carrots and celery, as it provides a tasty and low-fat alternative to traditional dips like ranch or sour cream.
What’s more, Greek yogurt can be a useful ingredient in sauces for your lean and green meals, as it adds creaminess and protein to the dish.
Finally, I don’t mind eating it straight up as a fueling alternative, especially when I run out of my supply.
When it comes to price, I order 1 container (5.3 oz) FAGE total 0% milkfat Greek yogurt from Amazon for $1.25.
Keep in mind that FAGE also sells 2% Low Fat Greek Strained Yogurt.
This is a flavored Greek yogurt (strawberry, blueberry, and peach) with more calories (120 per serving), less protein (12 grams), and more sugar (11 grams).
So I don’t recommend it. (Obviously.)

Apart from high protein and zero sugar content, I personally like this brand for its contribution to the world.
According to the Chobani website, they donated and delivered millions of products to food banks and anti-hunger organizations across the United States.
In addition, Chobani’s products only use natural, non-GMO sugar substitutes to add flavor to their products.
The product is lactose-free, gluten-free, vegetarian-friendly, and suitable for anyone following a kosher lifestyle.
Just be sure to choose to read the labels. Some Chobani yogurt contains as much as 200 calories per serving.

Instead, choose the Chobani Zero Sugar yogurt. This one has 60 calories per serving, 11 grams of protein, and zero sugar.
The 5.3 oz containers of all zero sugar flavors are priced at $1.38 at Walmart, which is cheaper than the price of $1.79 on Amazon.

4. Siggi`s Icelandic Strained Nonfat Yogurt
If you’re a fan of yogurt, you’ve got to try Icelandic-style yogurt, also known as skyr.
It traditional fermented milk product that is super popular in Iceland and has a thick, creamy texture that is totally crave-worthy.
One of the things that set Icelandic-style yogurt apart is its manufacturing process.
According to their website, yogurts are made through a process of straining the liquid whey from the yogurt.
This results in a product that has fewer carbohydrates, calories, and sugar, while it has more proteins.
What it also means is that one container is made with four times the amount of milk as a regular cup of yogurt, making it thick and creamy with no artificial sweeteners or preservatives, states the Siggi`s website.
Also, all yogurt is natural and does not use artificial sweeteners or flavors.
I use it as a substitute for sour cream or mayonnaise in dips, as a fueling smoothie hack, or as a topping for pancakes, waffles, muffins, or other Optavia hacks.
For Siggi`s brand, it is important to check the label when purchasing different flavors of yogurt, as the nutrition facts may be different.
Some can have more calories than others.

5. Two Good Low-Fat Greek Yogurt
Two Good is next a brand of yogurt that does not use artificial sweeteners which can give synthetic flavors.
This makes it a healthier and more natural option compared to some other brands that may use artificial ingredients.
This yogurt comes in a variety of tasty flavors, including strawberry, blueberry, mixed berry, vanilla, and peach, so there is sure to be a flavor that everyone will enjoy.
My wife likes to use Two Good Greek yogurts for her Optavia Fueling hacks and lean and green foods.
She also likes to chop one Optavia bar into small pieces and mix them together with yogurt (all Optavia bars taste great, just find the whole one).
If you’re looking for a good price, Walmart is the place to go.
You can purchase any flavor of Icelandic-style yogurt for just $1.34, or you can buy a pack of four 5.3 oz cups for only $4.63.

6. Stonyfield Organic Greek Nonfat Yogurt
Stonyfield Organic Greek Nonfat Yogurt is seriously delicious and packed with nutrients that your body will love.
According to their website, Stonyfield Greek yogurt it’s made from organic cow’s milk and goes through a straining process to give it that thick and creamy texture that we all know and love.
The brand is also certified organic, which means that it’s made with ingredients that are grown without the use of synthetic pesticides or fertilizers.
So not only is it delicious and nutritious, but it’s also a more environmentally-friendly choice.
Plus, it’s nonfat, which means it’s lower in fat and calories than other types of yogurt.
Keep in mind that Stonyfield also produces Organic Lowfat Yogurt. It has the same calories as Greek yogurt, but less protein and more sugar.
I prefer to order from Amazon because it is more convenient for me to buy one pack of 32 oz yogurt for $8.69 instead of purchasing a case of six from Walmart for $94.50 (without a discount).
